If you sell on cash on delivery, you know the feeling. You pack the order at midnight, book the rider in the morning, pay the courier from your own pocket — and two weeks later the parcel travels all the way home to you, unopened. Wrong number. Changed mind. A prank order from who-knows-where. Nobody refunds you that fuel, that fee, or that hope. We've sat on that side of the counter, and we got tired of shipping on guesswork. So we built the simplest honest fix we could think of: before anything leaves your shop, ask the customer — politely, on the app they already live on. That's all Mera Order is. A quiet question, a quick answer, and a lot fewer parcels making the sad journey back. +Is Mera Order an official WhatsApp or Meta product?
No, and we want to be straight about that. Mera Order is an independent service built on the official WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta Cloud API). We are not affiliated with, partnered with, sponsored by, or endorsed by WhatsApp, Meta, or Facebook. We use their official platform, follow their policies, and get every message template approved by Meta before use.
+How does a customer agree to receive these messages?
At your checkout, there's a clearly worded box that starts unticked. It names your store, says the message will come via WhatsApp, and explains it's a transactional order-confirmation message. The customer ticks it themselves. No tick, no message — it's that simple, and we never bend it.
+What exactly lands in the customer's WhatsApp?
One tidy, Meta-approved message: their order details — items, amount, delivery address — with a Confirm button and a Cancel button. One tap and they're done. No links to suspicious places, no sales pitch, no follow-up promotions.
+What happens when a customer cancels or doesn't reply?
Cancellations show up in your dashboard immediately, so that parcel never gets booked and never costs you a courier fee. No-replies are marked as awaiting, and the decision stays yours — call them, hold the order, or dispatch as per your own policy. We organise the answers; you stay in charge.
+Will it work with my store setup?
Almost certainly. We connect with Shopify, WooCommerce, and custom-built checkouts through a straightforward API and webhooks. If your store can tell us an order happened, Mera Order can ask your customer about it. Not sure about your setup? Call 0371 3850248 and we'll check together.
+Can you promise my returns will drop to zero?
No — and please be careful with anyone who does promise that. Some returns happen for reasons no message can fix. What we can say honestly: every order cancelled through Mera Order is an order you didn't pay to ship and didn't wait weeks to get back. You'll see the difference in your own courier bills, not in our marketing claims.
+What customer data do you handle, and who sees it?
We process the customer's name, phone number, and order details — only what's needed to send and record the confirmation. The legal basis is the customer's own opt-in consent. Data passes to Meta/WhatsApp to deliver the message, back to your store (which remains the data controller — Mera Order acts as processor), and to a small set of vetted sub-processors. We keep data only as long as needed, secure it properly, and honour access, correction, and deletion requests.
